The Esvagt Mercator service operations vessel (SOV) has started support work on the 330MW Belwind 1&2 offshore wind farms off the coast of Belgium.
MHI Vestas Offshore Wind has a 10-year lease agreement for the 58-metre vessel, which will operate out of the port of Ostende.
Esvagt chief commercial officer Søren Karas said: “The Esvagt Mercator is the latest development in our proven SOV concept and an example of the innovation made in fruitful cooperation with MHI Vestas.
“Collaborating and partnering in finding new, innovative solutions helps us on the road to a lower cost of renewable energy.”
