Norwegian company New Havyard Ship Technology has handed over today a wind farm service operation vessel to the Danish shipping company Esvagt.
The vessel that was handed over at Leirvik is the first in a new series of three ships to be delivered to Esvagt under the Havyard 831L design.
Work is well under way on the second vessel, and the third is being towed to the yard in Leirvik, scheduled for arrival early next year, New Havyard Ship Technology said.
New Havyard Ship Technology project manager Jan-Andre Forde Systad said: “Esvagt is a good customer that we have worked with for a long time.
“We know their systems and their expectations, so the ship we’re handing over is a very good one.
“Now we’re looking forward to starting work on the next vessel.”
Overall, the new ship is vessel number four and design number eight in a long-term collaboration between two companies.
