Eurus Energy UK has become a part owner of the 100MW Pentland floating offshore wind farm, developed by Highland Wind Limited. The size of the stake has not been disclosed.
The project is majority owned by Flagship Funds and managed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, with a Hexicon A/B as a minority shareholder.
Pentland received approval of its offshore consents application from Scottish Minister earlier this year, after trimming down the number of turbines and covering a smaller area.
The floater is located 7.5 km off the coast of Dounreay in Caithness, and has a capacity of 100MW. The project will have a 25 year lifespan.
“This investment is a key milestone for the project and, now that we have all key development requirements in place, we are ready to move forward,” project director Richard Copeland said.
