Atlantique Offshore Energy has finalised the design, construction, outfitting and onshore commissioning of the offshore substation for the 500MW Fecamp offshore wind farm off France.
The substation will soon be installed at the project, which is owned by EDF Renewables, EIH, a subsidary of Enbridge and CPP Investments, and WPD.
Atlantique Offshore Energy led a consortium with GE Grid Solutions and SDI, part of DEME Group, for the substation package.
Atlantique Offshore Energy managing director Frederic Grizaud said: “The sail-away of this new OSS demonstrates once again our ability to deliver successfully turn-key projects for all our customers, in France and worldwide.
“Our teams are very proud to be part of this growing Industry and to support the European energy transition. We are reinforcing our efforts through recruitment campaigns, with several job positions opened and accessible to different profiles.”
EDF Renewables Fecamp director Bertrand Allanic said: “Since its beginning in 2020, the construction of the wind farm is on schedule.
“We are happy to reach today another important milestone alongside our partner Atlantique Offshore Energy, division of Chantiers de l’Atlantique, with the finalisation of the onshore activities for the OSS.
“The teams are now preparing its installation off Fecamp coastline planned during summer time.
“The mobilisation of more than 450 persons in Pays de la Loire Region over the last two years, for the completion of this key component of the wind farm, reinforces the development of the French offshore wind industry; an effort EDF Renewables and its partners are proud de be part of.”
