The Finnish government has granted exploration permits for three proposed offshore wind farms in the country’s Exclusive Economic Zone.
One permit has been issued to WPD Finland for an area to the west of Pietarsaari.

Two permits have also been granted to OX2 Finland for projects in the western research areas of Hailuoto and Pietarsaari.
The companies’ permits in front of Pietarsaari have been granted for the same area, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment said.
Surveys are scheduled for this year and next with the permit for WPD valid until 30 November next year and the OX2 permits running until 30 October 2023.
