Orsted has announced that the ‘first-ever jacket foundations to be produced in Taiwan’ are on their way to the 900MW Greater Changhua 1&2a offshore wind farm.
The first batch of six jacket foundations have been produced locally by SDMS left the Sing Da Harbour in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan.
The foundations are specially designed to perform under the unique local weather and seabed conditions and with an impressive height of around 80 metres, the Danish developer said.

Orsted added that the first Taiwanese jacket foundations “constitute a true milestone for the local offshore wind industry”.
