Fred Olsen and Vestas have installed the first turbine at the 589MW Changfang and Xidao offshore wind farm in Taiwan.
The project will eventually feature 62 of Vestas’ V174-9.5MW machines located approximately 15km off the coast of Changhua County.

They will be installed on three-legged jackets pin piled jackets which have been put in place by Boskalis and HC Offshore partnership Bowei.
Offshore construction of the wind farm started last year and it is expected to come online in early 2024.
The project is being Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, who holds a majority stake, as well as a group of 25 domestic and international banks and seven international export credit agencies.
