Firth Steels will supply profiled steel for SeAH Wind’s £650m monopile manufacturing facility at Teesworks in the UK.
The company is manufacturing around 200,000sq m of profiled steel to form the roof and wall covering on the half-mile-long monopile facility, the first of its kind in the UK.
The external building envelope is being manufactured by Firth Steels at its state-of-the-art facility in West Yorkshire and the first sections have now put in place as the project achieves a further milestone.
The 40m tall SeAH factory will annually produce up to 200 monopiles. Hundreds are now working on the site – with 750 direct jobs in total and 1500 forecast to come through the supply chain.
