Flotation Energy Taiwan has submitted a Development Action Plan (DAP) to the Taiwan Environmental Protection Administration for a 100MW floating offshore wind demonstration project off the coast of the Asian island.
The Chu Tim demo would be located 22km to 30km off of the coast of Hsinchu County and Hsinchu City in water depths of 60 to 90 metres.

The project is planned to be in the water by 2026.
Flotation said the submission of the DAP is an important step ahead of submitting a full environmental impact assessment for the demo and an up to 1.2GW commercial project.
It added that the development builds on a memorandum of cooperation signed last September with CSBC Corporation.
