France has awarded contracts to two additional projects as part of its first floating wind tender.
The projects, which follow a pair awarded in July, are both located in the Mediterranean Sea.
EDF EN won support to build its 24MW PGL wind farm at the Faraman site located 15km off the coast, the energy ministry said.
It will feature three 8MW Siemens turbines and a floating platform provided by SBM and IFPEN.
Engie, EDPR and CDC will develop the 24MW EFGL wind farm about 13km off the coast in the Leucate area.
GE will provide four 6MW turbines with Eiffage and PPI supplying the floating platform.
The US manufacturer and Senvion will supply the turbines for the two 24MW projects awarded in the summer, which are being developed by groups led by Eolfi and Quadran.
