France has launched two new tenders for previously-identified fixed-bottom offshore wind farms.
The first site, based around 35km off Oleron island will have a capacity of about 1GW, while the second site, 38km off the coast of Normandy, will have a capacity of around 1.5GW.

Developers will have until 23 December, 2022 to submit their initial applications. This will be followed by a three-month discussion process, giving developers an opportunity to discuss the project with public authorities.
Final applications will be submitted from February 2023, with projects awarded at the end of 2023 or early 2024.
