Fred Olsen Windcarrier has secured a contract from Orsted to supply a jack-up vessel or vessels for main component exchanges at offshore wind farms in the UK, Germany and Denmark.
The deal covers out of warranty wind farms and involves heavy lifting and related services, such as providing the lifting equipment.

Components to be exchanged include blades, gearboxes, generators, bearings and transformers.
Orsted also requires full service management of the vessel and its operations and may include specified requirements, such as sea fastening and tagline systems for the components.
No details were revealed on the value of the contract or its length.
