France Energies Marines is launching a €13m investment in a research and innovation programme to help accelerate the development of the offshore wind sector.
The €13m will support five multi-partner research projects starting in autumn 2023.
The ambitious programme focuses on topics that are crucial to the development of the offshore wind sector: the effects of climate change, a detailed assessment of atmospheric turbulence, the use of hybrid moorings for floating systems, the production of hydrogen from offshore wind turbines, and real-time monitoring of marine megafauna.
The topics associated with these five new projects are the result of programming work carried out with the industrial members of France Energies Marines.
They are fully in line with the current challenges facing the offshore wind energy sector in France.
