French grid operator RTE and Engie have gone to market for both on and offshore cables at the developer’s 24MW Golfe du Lion floating offshore project off France.
The pair have fired the starting gun on a procurement process that will see them nominate an EPCI contractor to supply and install 25km of 66kV-rated cable at the project.
The project’s four GE Haliade 6MW turbines will be linked up by 3km of dynamic array cabling and an 18.5km-long export line that will bring power to shore.
A further 3km will run between landfall and the project’s onshore substation, according to tender documents.
The work scope includes survey, design and engineering work in addition to compliance testing, procurement, completion and spares provision.
An initial pre-qualification tender round closed today.
The developer and grid operator will send invitations to tender to four chosen companies in late April.
The turbines at Golfe du Lion will be mounted on WindFloat semi-submersible steel foundations.
