Fugro has been selected to carry out surveys of the proposed South Holland offshore wind zone in the Netherlands.
The contractor will conduct geophysical soil investigations on behalf of government unit RVO, part of the Ministry of Economics.
A total of nine offers were received for the contract, which was valued at around €1.5m.
Work will form part of preparations for an upcoming tender for four licences in the around 1.4GW area, which is due to be online starting in 2021.
There is a total of 3.5GW on offer off the Netherlands as part of the country’s next-generation offshore wind plan.
