Parkwind has appointed Fugro to conduct a geotechnical campaign for its 247MW Arcadis Ost 1 wind farm in the German Baltic Sea.
The campaign began this month with an unexploded ordnance survey and is expected to continue until May, the Belgian company said.

Once the campaign is wrapped up, Parkwind said it would initiate the foundation design process for both the wind turbines and the offshore high-voltage substation.
Soil testing will be performed by the vessels Fugro Meridian and Normand Flower, which have just wrapped up geotechnical work at Iberdrola’s 476MW Baltic Eagle project nearby.
Under German offshore wind rules, Parkwind needs to reach financial close for the project in 2020.
