UK outfit G Robinson Design Engineering Services (GRDES) supported the upending of the offshore substation jacket foundation for the Galloper wind farm, which will be located off the UK’s Suffolk coast.
The company said it designed and detailed the temporary lift trunnion and tailing padeye for the jacket, which was designed by Petrofac and fabricated by Heerema in Hartlepool.
GRDES said its engineers analysed the structure using Staad Pro software to ensure no “members were overstressed during the upending process”.
The company said it also compiled the project specific procedure governing the moving and upending operation, which was carried out by lifting contractor Mammoet.
