GDG is continuing cooperation with PGE Baltica as the geoscience advisor and engineering consultant on the 896MW Baltica 1 offshore wind project, in the Baltic Sea off Poland.
The recent collaboration between GDG and PGE follows on from the former previously providing the preliminary ground model, geotechnical and offshore design support on the Baltica 2 and 3 projects.
The scope of work for this recent commission includes ground modelling development support, survey management, and general engineering support in relation to the foundation and cable design.
GDG managing director Paul Doherty said: “We look forward to working with PGE Baltica again on yet another exciting offshore wind farm development in Polish waters.
“Over the past two years we have developed a strong working relationship with the progressive and dynamic development team at PGE Baltica and we look forward to continuing working together on this new site.”
Baltica 1 is PGE Baltica’s third concession area in the Baltic Sea, which is located about 80km from the shore.
It is planned to be operational after 2030.
PGE Baltica is also developing the 1498MW Baltica 2 and the 1048MW Baltica 3 projects.
First power from the wind farms is expected to flow in 2026.
