GE has signed an agreement with Italian oil major Eni to develop renewable energy projects, including offshore and onshore wind and solar power.
The agreement also covers hybrid gas-renewable projects, electrification of new and existing assets, waste-to-energy schemes, the ‘green’ conversion of mature or decommissioned industrial assets and the deployment of technologies developed by Eni’s R&D department.
Eni said the deal “aims to enhance its ability to implement projects in the renewable energy sector, leveraging on the strong relationship developed over many years with GE in planning, constructing and operating oil and gas industrial plants”.
The Italian company has been operating in the renewable energy sector since 1980.
