GeoSea has been appointed preferred supplier for the transportation and installation of MHI Vestas V164-9.5MW turbines at Innogy’s 860MW Triton Knoll offshore wind farm off the UK’s Lincolnshire coast.
The contract includes the design and manufacture of the sea-fastening and tagline systems, and the transportation and installation of all 90 of the 164-metre diameter turbines.
The work is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2021.
GeoSea will work with the project developer to “maximise opportunities for UK businesses, as it works towards the delivery of its target of 50% UK content, throughout the lifetime of the project”.
Innogy will now progress the project to a final investment decision due for mid-2018.
The wind farm has a Contract for Difference from the UK Government and will be operational in 2021.
