Germany’s federal maritime and hydrographic agency has issued tenders calling for surveys of offshore wind sites N-6.6 and N-6.7 in the country’s North Sea.
The tendering procedure will launch in January 2020, with investigations scheduled to begin in the spring/summer of that year.
Surveys will span an area of around 1,300km and include “sediment echoes and high-resolution single and multi-channel seismics”, said the agency.
In addition, the contract will include processing, evaluation, and documentation of data records as well as the determination of suitable locations for subsequent geotechnical investigations, said the agency.
The hydroacoustic and seismic data will be available to potential developers when the sites are put to tender 2024. They are expected to go into operation in 2029.
The sites, the 630MW N-6.6 and 270MW N-6.7, are identified in the 2019 development plan under the government’s previous 2030 target of 15GW.
