Marine consultancy Global Maritime has secured a contract for a complete marine warranty package for the 1200MW Baltic Power project in Poland.
Due to come online in 2026, the project is a joint venture by Northland Power and PKN Orlen Group.
Global Maritime director of marine services Ekkehard Stade said: “We’re seeing our market share in offshore wind grow exponentially in recent times largely owing, I think, to our track record.
“We have demonstrated we can deliver pragmatic solutions and mitigate risk on time and to budget.
“Offering our clients that careful balance which keeps the project timeline moving and satisfying the requirements of the insurers is vital.“This is a truly global project, making it the ideal fit for us.
“We’ll focus on local content for onsite activities to keep project costs under control, with the ability to draw on the extensive knowledge resource of our global network of highly skilled engineers combined with experienced Master Mariners.”EPCI director for Baltic Power Cat Brown added: “We’re delighted to have Global Maritime onboard.
“Their track record and extensive experience in marine warranty as well as their local presence in Poland makes them a great partner for our project, that once constructed in 2026 will be one of the first large scale offshore wind farms in the Polish sector producing energy for more than 1.5m Polish households. “Their resources and approach will largely support our project, we’re looking forward to working with the team.”When completed, the Baltic Power will be one the largest offshore wind farms in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea.
