Global Wind Service (GWS) is ready to start work on its nacelle lift supervision and installation contract for Deepwater Wind’s 30MW Block Island wind farm in Rhode Island state waters.
The company was awarded the contract for the work on GE Renewable Energy’s Haliade 150 6MW nacelles late last year.
It said is has already delivered manpower, tools and safety equipment for the job.
GWS chief commercial officer Michael Olsen said: “We have worked with the Haliade turbine on a number of occasions, firstly at the Belwind test site and more recently the test turbine at Østerild.
“Our technicians will use this experience to perform the installation safely and efficiently.”
