Gulf Marine Services (GMS) has received notification of the award of a contract for one of its large class vessels to support maintenance of offshore wind farms in Europe.
The six-year contract is with is with “one of the world’s offshore wind farm developers”, which GMS has not disclosed.
Under the terms of the agreement, GMS will provide support for the maintenance of offshore wind farms for the client.
Signing of the definitive contract remains subject to no complaints being raised during the applicable standstill period.
Mansour Al Alami, GMS Executive Chairman, said: “We are incredibly pleased to be awarded this contract, which is a further reflection of the strong demand for our vessels.
“This contract also reflects our long-term commitment to the renewable energy sector, as earlier announcements confirmed our commitment towards the oil and gas sector.”
The vessels in the GMS fleet have an average age of eight years and are capable of operating in water depths of 45 metres to 80 metres depending on leg length.
