Spanish company Greenalia has completed a geophysical campaign at San Bartolomé de Tirajana in the Canary Islands for the 50MW Gofio floating offshore wind farm.
The work was carried out over two months by local company ECOS, Greenalia said.
The study included bathymetric and morphological surveys of the seabed, which has allowed to advance in in-depth analysis of the benthic communities and underwater archaeology.
Greenalia added that the main objective of the surveys was to obtain a more detailed knowledge of the conditions of the seabed where the wind farm will be implemented.
“In this way you will be able to advance with greater precision in the design processes of the floating structures and the project certification,” Greenalia said.
The company said the results of the campaign have confirmed the analysis carried out within the environmental impact assessment, prepared in 2020 and has also allowed to obtain a greater knowledge of the biodiversity of the seabed.
