Taiwan’s Hai Long offshore wind project has concluded a Submarine Export Cable Supply Agreement with LS Cable & System.
LS C&S will supply the extra-high voltage submarine cables connecting the offshore substations to the substation onshore and handle the construction and testing of cable connections.
This is a formal agreement following the conclusion of the preferred bidder agreement in October last year.
The 1044MW Hai Long Offshore Wind Project is located approximately 50 km away from the west coast of Taiwan and scheduled for completion in 2026.
Felipe Montero, Project Director of Hai Long and Head of Northland Power Taiwan said: “We are delighted to conclude this submarine export cable supply agreement with LS C&S. With their extensive experience delivering this type of cables for large projects across the world and in Taiwan, we are confident that we have selected the best possible supplier for this scope and that they’ll deliver their works as planned.”
Euigon Ko, Senior Vice-president of Submarine Cable System Division of LS Cable & System, added: “We are glad to finally have been awarded as the export cable supplier of Hai Long offshore wind farm project in Taiwan and even happier to contribute ourselves as a valuable partner.”
