Heerema Marine Contractors has won a contract from Dong Energy to transport and install the offshore substation for the 450MW Borkum Riffgrund 2 wind farm in the German North Sea.
However, the contract is conditional on the Danes making a final investment decision on the project, a Dong spokeswoman said.
Dong reached agreement with MHI Vestas last year on the supply of V164 8MW turbines for the project, again conditional on a FID being reached.
Borkum Riffgrund 2, if it goes ahead, will be located approximately 57km off the north-east coast of Germany.
