Hellenic Cables has been chosen to supply array cables and accessories for the 1044MW Hai Long offshore wind project, off Taiwan.
The developer of the Hai Long offshore wind project has selected Hellenic Cables to supply 66kV XLPE-insulated array cables and associated accessories for its 2A (300MW), 2B (232MW) and 3 (512MW) offshore wind farms.
Hellenic will supply a total cable length of 140 km, following the signing of an exclusivity capacity agreement (ECA) in early June.
Manufacturing is expected to be completed in 2024.
The Hai Long Offshore Wind Farm is one of Taiwan’s largest offshore wind farms and is being jointly developed by Northland Power, Yushan Energy and Mitsui & Co.
The project will be located 40-50 km off the west coast of Taiwan.
“Hellenic Cables’ state-of-the-art inter-array cables and accessories provide our customers with the assurance of top quality and sustainable products, which contribute substantially to the energy transition of Taiwan.
“At Hellenic Cables, we are delighted with our new collaboration with Hai Long Offshore Wind Power Co, which can be a great path for the energy transformation journey,” said Alexis Alexiou, CEO of Cenergy Holdings and Hellenic Cables.
