The Cofely Fabricom, lemants and CG consortium (FICG) has confirmed a contract to build and install the offshore substation at EnBW’s 497MW Hohe See wind farm in the German North Sea.
Hohe See, which translates as High Sea, will feature 71 Siemens 7MW turbines and will be commissioned in 2019.
CG said it will undertake the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of the substation’s HV/MV equipment and control and protection system for the offshore platform.
Cofely Fabricom’s scope includes the build, commissioning and transport of the substation jacket and topside, while lemants will design and build the steel structures for the substation, including the piles.
Hohe See covers an area of about 40 square km in the German North Seas some 90km north of Borkum and 100km north-west of Helgoland.
Water depths of up to 39 meters feature at the site with the wind farm to be connected to the German high voltage grid via the BorWin3 converter platform.
