Hollandia Offshore has won a contract to deliver the substations for the 600MW Kriegers Flak offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea.
The Dutch company signed a contract with Danish transmission system operator Energinet.dk to build and install two unmanned substations by May 2018, it said.
The wind project consists of two sections, the 200MW Kriegers Flak A in the west and the 400MW Kriegers Flak B in the east.
Both will be developed at Hollandia’s yard in Krimpen aan den IJssel near Rotterdam.
Dutch electrical engineers Croonwolter & Dros will be responsible for the utility areas such as the low voltage systems, firefighting and the HVAC.
“We are very pleased that we have been awarded this challenging contract for the Kriegers Flak substations,” Hollandia managing director Nico Noorlander said.
“We are confident that we are able to continue the excellent working relationship with our client Energinet.dk for which we recently delivered the jacket for the Horns Rev C substation.”
