Jan De Nul jack-up Voltaire has been equipped with the largest leg-encircling crane ever built at a shipyard in China.
The Huisman crane has a crane house weighing 1800 tonnes, a boom of 140 metres and weight of 800 tonnes.

It will use a universal quick connector to pick loads without manual handling.
Jan De Nul said the vessel is designed to install the offshore wind turbines of the future, over 270 metres high and blades 120 metres long.
The first part of the legs were installed just before the launching at the end of January.
The company said it is now gradually increasing the height until they reach the full 131.5 metres.
