IberBlue Wind and the University of Coimbra have signed a collaboration agreement to promote the development of offshore wind energy in Portugal.
As of today, IberBlue Wind has two wind farms planned on the Portuguese coast: the 1440MW Creoula, near Viana do Castelo, and the 990MW Botafogo, along the city of Figueira da Foz.
IberBlue Wind will also have, within the scope of this agreement, the scientific competencies of the University of Coimbra in various areas, notably in the areas of optimisation and logistics, design of metallic and offshore structures, decision support systems, energy management, maritime and aerial robotics, as well as preservation of marine fauna and flora.
This agreement is part of IberBlue Wind’s policy of dialogue and collaboration with the different agents and interested parties involved in the planned projects. These partners include civil society, coastal communities, academia, non-governmental organisations, industry, tourism and other groups related to the use of the sea.
