Iberdrola has applied for permits to carry out surveys for two 490MW floating offshore wind farms off the coast of Galicia in Spain, according to local media reports.
Galiciapress reported that the Spanish energy company had made requests to the Ministry of Ecological Transition to carry environmental studies for the two projects.

The projects are called San Cibrao and San Brandan, the reports said.
In February, Iberdrola said it had identified sites off the coasts of Galicia, Andalusia and the Canary Islands for floating projects up to 2GW.
Iberdrola had not responded to a request for comment at press time.
