Ideol and Elicio have joined forces to co-develop floating wind projects in Scottish waters and are preparing to bid for a site to develop at the upcoming ScotWind leasing round.
Crown Estate Scotland will launch the deep-water round following the publication of Marine Scotland’s draft Sectoral Marine Plan in Autumn.
Ideol said the marriage underscored its intention to develop floating offshore wind farms from an early stage and said it plans to use concentrate platforms built in local ports at any project it secures.
“Combining the track-record of Ideol in floating wind and the experience of Elicio in offshore wind offers a unique value proposition maximising certainty of a successful project development, based on the effective creation of a Scottish supply chain, a competitive LCOE and a proven floating technology” Ideol chief executive Paul de la Guérivière said.
Elicio’s portfolio includes a 50% stake in the 370MW Norther project, a 12.5% share in the 309MW Rentel wind farm and a 8.75% share in the 487MW SeaMade development, all off Belgium.
“Further to Elicio’s unique expertise and experience in offshore wind energy, we are committed, with our partner Ideol, to making this tender a milestone in the Scottish offshore wind sector,” said Elicio board member Emile Dumont said.
