French company Ideol and Japan’s Hitachi Zosen have signed a contract to kick off construction of two floating offshore wind turbines.
The contract is the second between the companies, following a year-long collaboration between the design and engineering teams.
Ideol said the construction of the two machines will involve concrete and steel, and utilise different wind turbines and mooring line materials from previous models.
Ideol chief executive officer Paul de la Gueriviere said: “Our teams have achieved tremendous work in record time together.”
