8.2 Consulting has carried out “collision friendliness” analysis for three Iemants projects this year, including for offshore substations at the Veja Mate and Hohe See wind farms.
The German consultancy said it has performed the “necessary examinations and the hull-retaining verification” for the projects.
The work included the preparation of a numerical crashworthiness analysis to evaluate the consequences of vessel collision with an offshore structure, 8.2 Consulting said.
“The main objective is to ensure that in case of a collision between a ship and an offshore structure the consequences for the environment, ship and, at last, for the offshore structure itself do not become too severe,” it said.
