The 1GW Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm’s developer team is to hold a series of supply chain events in the coming months as it prepares to deliver the project off Scotland.
Inchcape will see up to 72 turbines located 15 km off the Angus coast and connect to the national transmission system at Cockenzie, East Lothian.
The project aims to start onshore works in early 2023 and offshore works late 2023, with first generation in 2025 and full commissioning in early 2026.
Having secured a Contract for Difference in Allocation Round 4, Inch Cape is now moving from development to delivery, focussing towards Financial Close in 2023 and procuring all remaining contracts.
The project contracts are divided into six main categories: wind turbines array export cables, onshore and offshore substations (substations awarded to Siemens-Iemants consortium), foundations and substructures, transport & installation and operations & maintenance based at Montrose Port Authority.
For the purpose of approaching the market, Inch Cape has adopted a multi contracting approach with the option to bundle within the EPCI arrangements later.
As part of this process, Inch Cape will be hosting a number of in person and online meet the buyer events alongside tier one/principal contractors and other relevant stakeholders.
Over the next six months Inch Cape will host others’ events related to their key packages and they will provide detailed information on what they require from contractors for their various work packages in the advertising for individual events.
