Inch Cape Offshore Limited has confirmed the arrival of its first export cable at the Port of Blyth, marking a key milestone for the offshore wind project.
The 85km-long 220kV dual circuit AC cable arrived overnight aboard the barge Dong Fang Hai Gong 07, escorted up the River Blyth estuary by the tug Brent.

Installation will be carried out in three sections by Enshore Subsea using its CMOS Installer vessel.
Manufactured by Orient Cable, the 2000mm² cable is among the largest AC export cables in the world, according to the company.
Inch Cape is a joint venture between ESB and Red Rock Power.
