A member of the crew of Swire Blue Ocean jack-up Pacific Osprey, who was injured when part of a crane boom collapsed, is in a “stable condition” in hospital, according to the company.
The vessel operator said four other members of the crew who were treated after the accident last week have all returned home “to continue their recovery”.
A “specialist salvage team” is meanwhile on site in Eemshaven, the Netherlands, to ensure the damaged crane is “safe and secure” before the jack-up us moved to an unnamed shipyard for repairs.
A “thorough investigation” into the accident is meanwhile underway, added Swire Blue Ocean chief executive Mikkel Gleerup.
“The safety and well-being of our people is always our first priority. We will continue to support those affected and their families throughout the recovery period.”
The vessel was undergoing crane maintenance when the incident occurred, in a break from foundation installation duties at EnBW’s 497MW Hohe See wind farm in the German North Sea.
