Alicat Workboats shipyard in Great Yarmouth has completed a refurbishment of James Fisher Marine Services offshore support vessel Dart Fisher.
James Fisher said the £35,000 investment was timed to coincide with up and coming operations and maintenance charter requirements to ensure that the Dart Fisher is ready to mobilise at short notice.
Work on the vessel included an overhaul of the main engine and gear box, as well as renewal of the below water line anti fouling paint covering to ensure maximum fuel efficiency.
James Fisher have also brought all of Dart Fisher’s certifications back under DNV GL-class, including prop shaft replacements, together with associated bearings and seals.
The 25.7-metre-long offshore support vessel is able to carry three standard ISO 20-foot containers with a 30-tonne load and 12 passengers to sites up to 150 nautical miles offshore.
Dart Fisher is suitable for a range of marine services, such as diving, ROV work, cable installation, ship-to-turbine oil change, blade repair and other O&M duties, the company said.
James Fisher Marine Services marine manager said: “It is vital for James Fisher Marine Services that the Dart Fisher is maintained to the highest industry standards to keep her charter ready and with the works completed and upgrades which we have already completed, we are confident that the vessel can support the renewable offshore sector for years to come.”
