UK outfit JDR Cable Systems has been selected by Siem Offshore Contractors to provide termination and testing services for the array cables at the 588MW Beatrice offshore wind farm in the Moray Firth.
Siem has already awarded JDR the design, manufacture and supply contract for array cables at the project.
More than half of the submarine composite cables produced for the wind farm have passed factory acceptance tests and now await load-out for installation by Siem later this year.
Beatrice will feature 84 Siemens 7MW turbines once commissioned in 2019.
It is being developed by SSE, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Red Rock Power.
