K2 Management has been selected to support delivery of a 200MW floating offshore wind project off South Korea.
The global consultancy has been appointed by Kepco Engineering and Construction to work on operation and maintenance strategy, including on capex and opex estimations.
The outfit will also examine “commercialization and expansion concepts and the design and technical requirements for wind turbine generator technology and floating foundation types”.
“There are many challenges in commercializing innovative technology like floating foundations, but K2 Management will bring its knowledge and experience from early-stage floating projects and extensive offshore projects to deliver better energy projects for both our client and for Korea as a whole,” said K2 South Korea director Jung Kwang-Woon.
The project, which is in the pre-feasibility stage, is being developed by the Ulsan consortium and is planned for an area 50km off the coast of Ulsan city in the East Sea.
