Kent market and project director for offshore Wind Ceri-Anne Cummings said: “Continuing our relationship with the Iberdrola Group and supporting projects within the US is a key focus for Kent’s Engineering and Consulting business.

“The concept design builds on the long-standing offshore substation capabilities within Kent.

“It reinforces our commitment to the US offshore wind market, which our team in Houston has served well for many years, and is further strengthened by the recent appointment of a US Market Lead based in Boston.

“This project is the fourth concurrent project in our portfolio of work which shows the quality of the relationship we’ve built with the client and places us in the supply chain for their three current European developments and Avangrid Renewables’ Park City Wind project.

“We look forward to supporting the client in their next stage of offshore windfarms being built in the US to tackle climate change and meet Net Zero targets.”

Avangrid Renewables senior vice president for offshore project management Sy Oytan said: “Avangrid Renewables is pleased to partner with Kent and bring its deep, global experience to the development of the Park City Wind project.

“The design of the offshore substation is critical to the success of this project, and working with Kent allows us to tap into decades of engineering expertise as we continue to advance Park City Wind through the development process.”

Kent provides engineering and design services to the global offshore wind industry.
