Lamprell has won a contract to fabricate 30 foundations for Total and SSE Renewables’ 1075MW Seagreen offshore wind farm off the coast of Scotland.
The UAE fabricator said it has been awarded a “letter of award” from Seaway 7, which is the jackets and array cable EPCI contractor on the project.
The deal is subject to finalising a contract, which Lamprell said is due shortly.
Fabrication is expected to wrap up in the second half of next year with completed jackets to be delivered to the Hamriyah port where Seaway 7 will transport them to the North Sea.
Lamprell chief executive Christopher McDonald said: “We are delighted to have been selected to be part of the major Seagreen offshore wind farm project.
“Having worked on similar projects in the renewables segment, our workforce is skilled and experienced to execute the project with a focus on the key drivers of safety, high quality and profitability.
“We see substantial growth opportunities in the renewables sector, which is a core strategic focus for Lamprell, and we are excited to work with Seaway 7 on this project in the months to come.”
