The last four towers for MHI Vestas V164-8.0MW turbines have left Belfast Harbour for Dong Energy’s 659MW Walney 3 offshore wind farm.
The project consists of 40 MHI Vestas machines, with a further 47 Siemens Gamesa 7MW turbines to be installed at the site to complete the job.
The wind farm is located in the Irish Sea approximately 19km from the Walney Island coast in Cumbria.
First power was delivered from the project in September.
