RWE has entered into a power purchase agreement with Schwarz Group, which owns the Lidl brand, for output from its 342MW Kaskasi offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
The PPA between RWE Supply & Trading and Schwarz is for roughly 250 million kilowatt hours of renewable energy per year starting in 2028.

The electricity will be used by the group’s retail subsidiaries Lidl and Kaufland, which have become the first corporate customers to conclude a PPA for green energy from Kaskasi.
The offshore wind farm began commercial operations in March 2023.
The PPA has been signed for a duration of 10 years.
