LM Wind Power has produced the first 107-metre blade that will be fitted to the prototype GE Renewable Energy Haliade-X 12MW offshore turbine.
The GE-owned business said the unit was made at its factory in Cherbourg, France, and is undergoing post-moulding finishing touches.

A round of testing and validation will begin once completed.
The prototype is being installed in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, later this year.
LM project director Lukasz Cejrowski said: “The LM 107.0 P is one of the biggest single-components ever built. This is an amazing achievement not only for LM Wind Power and GE Renewable Energy, but for the entire wind industry.”
