Engineering consultancy LOC Group has signed a deal with Orsted to carry out marine warranty surveyor services for the 1386MW Hornsea 2 wind farm off east England.
LOC will use staff in London and Singapore to execute the work on the project substations, which are being manufactured in Asia.
The deal will last for 18 months and follows on from a similar agreement to work on the 1.2GW Hornsea 1 wind farm.
LOC Group renewables technical director Peter Croll welcomed the contract.
“This agreement reaffirms LOC Group’s position as the engineering and consulting firm of choice for giant scale offshore wind farm projects.”
Orsted supply chain development manager Peter Clusky added: “Our suppliers are a pivotal part of the project team and play an important role in realising the project.
“We continue to deliver on our commitment to support the development of a competitive UK supply chain that can benefit from the many opportunities in Orsted’s global portfolio of projects in the UK and around the world.”
Hornsea 2 is located 89km off Yorkshire and is due online in 2022.
