LS Cable & System, Jan De Nul and Denys have received a letter of allocation (LoA) from TenneT to deliver cables for the BalWin5 grid connection project off Germany.
The document concerns, the manufacture, transportation, installation and testing of 525kV high voltage direct current (HVDC) cables for BalWin5, which is part of TenneT’s “2GW Program” which is in the planning phase.
The LoA includes both offshore and onshore 525 kV HVDC power cables connecting an offshore converter station in the German North Sea to an onshore converter station planned to be built in Bremen, Germany.
Prior to this LoA, on 10 December, LS Cable received an order from the Dutch-German transmission system operator to supply 525 kV HVDC power cables (offshore and onshore) for the LanWin5 grid connection project in Germany.
