The Maltese Parliament is to debate amendments to the proposed legislation setting out areas for siting floating offshore wind projects.
A vote on the Legislative Framework of the Exclusive Economic Zone will occur on 13 July, the Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Enterprise has confirmed to reNEWS.

Malta is considering floating offshore renewables as a technology that could enable the EU island achieve a high level of renewables penetration in its energy mix.
A pre-market consultation has been carried out and a policy document centred on the deployment of offshore renewable energy is being finalised.
